NEW APPOINTMENT

The Taita Taveta University Management Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Anne Kelly Kambura as the Dean, School of Agriculture, Earth and Environmental Sciences.

Dr. Kambura, a distinguished academic scholar in the field of microbiology, brings a wealth of experience in microbial research, diagnostics, public health, biotechnology, environmental science, industry, and agriculture and project management.

Her previous research work primarily focuses on the diversity and ecological dynamics of soil microbiomes, particularly within forest ecosystems and agricultural settings in Kenya. Her recent publications reflect a keen interest in understanding the composition and functional shifts of microbial communities in response to various environmental factors and agricultural practices. Noteworthy works include studies on the soil microbiomes of forest ecosystems, the biogeographical survey of soil microbiomes across sub-Saharan Africa, and the impacts of co-composting on prokaryotic communities.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Kambura has received sponsorship from prestigious organizations such as the National Institutes of Health and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, underscoring her commitment to advancing research in microbiology. Her contributions to the scientific community are recognized through her publications in reputable journals, where she continues to explore the intricate relationships between microorganisms and their environments.
