Sealing, Resource Mobilization and Academic Affairs Committee
Mandate
Reviewed Terms of Reference for the Sealing, Resource Mobilization and Academic Affairs Committee as follows:
Sealing
- To consider and authorize on behalf of Council the application of the University Seal on academic documents and any other document as the case may require and ensure security of the documents.
Resource Mobilization
- Approve Policies to Guide resource mobilisation
- To provide strategic direction and oversight for resource mobilization efforts in TTU
- Ensure alignment of resource mobilization activities with TTU's mission and strategic goals and compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Support the development and implementation of resource mobilization initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of resource mobilization strategies and initiatives
Academic Compliance
- Oversight on compliance with CUE guidelines
- Receive and consider reports from Senate and make recommendations to Council on Academic, Research, innovation, and community outreach Matters
- To develop and review statutes for the University
- To deal with any other matter that may be referred
Council Members
Committee Chair
Independent Council Member and Chair of SRM Committee. Head of Partnerships & Networking at Mombasa Investment Corporation. Financial/Economic Advisor with extensive experience in public sector and policy development. Previously served as Ag. Chief Officer – Tourism at Mombasa County Government and Economic Advisor at Kilifi County Government.
Committee Members
Independent Council Member and Chair of AGR Committee. Managing Director at Lule Autoworld and Construction Company Ltd with over 40 years of professional experience. Holds MSc in Food Science from Alabama A&M University, USA.
Independent Council Member and Chair of HRD Committee. Over 20 years of senior management experience at Kenya Revenue Authority. Expertise in strategic management, finance, and international trade negotiations.
Core Functions
University Seal
Authorize application of University Seal on academic documents and ensure document security
Resource Mobilization
Approve policies and provide strategic direction for fundraising and income generation
CUE Compliance
Oversight on compliance with Commission for University Education guidelines
Strategy & Alignment
Ensure resource mobilization aligns with TTU's mission and strategic goals
Senate Reports
Receive and consider reports from Senate on academic and research matters
Statute Review
Develop and review statutes for the University
Research & Innovation
Make recommendations on research, innovation, and community outreach
Ethical Compliance
Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in all activities
Meetings
Meeting Frequency
The committee meets quarterly or as often as necessary to address sealing requests, resource mobilization strategies, and academic affairs matters requiring Council attention.
Reporting
The committee reports to the University Council after each meeting and submits recommendations on academic compliance, statute reviews, and resource mobilization initiatives.
