What We Do
The Facilities Management Department is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and development of the university's physical infrastructure, including buildings, grounds, utilities, and equipment. Our mandate is to ensure a safe, clean, and sustainable environment that supports the academic mission and enhances the experience of students, staff, and visitors.
Core Functions
Building Maintenance
Building and infrastructure maintenance (civil, structural, and architectural works)
Grounds Management
Grounds and landscape management, including cleaning services and beautification projects
Utilities Management
Utilities management (water, electricity, and sewage systems) to ensure reliable supply and efficiency
Equipment Maintenance
Mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance (e.g., HVAC systems, lifts, generators)
Space Management
Space management and allocation for academic and administrative functions
Project Management
Project management for new developments, renovations, and upgrades
Waste Management
Waste management and environmental sustainability initiatives
Fleet Management
Maintenance and management of the university's vehicle fleet
Event Support
Providing logistical and setup support for university events
Key Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Regularly scheduled inspections and servicing of university assets
- Request Management: Prompt response to maintenance requests through a centralized system
- Security and Safety: Overseeing the security of physical assets, including access control and fire safety
- Utility Optimization: Monitoring consumption and implementing energy-saving measures
- Fleet Management: Maintenance and management of the university's vehicle fleet
- Event Support: Providing logistical and setup support for university events
