Department of Educational Foundations and Psychology
EFP - Understanding Learner Development and Educational Foundations
About the Department
The Department of Educational Foundations and Psychology (EFP) is one of the two departments in the School of Education. The department focuses on understanding learner development, psychological principles in education, and the philosophical and sociological foundations of learning.
Our programmes are designed to equip students with a deep understanding of how individuals learn and develop, the psychological factors that influence educational outcomes, and the foundational theories that underpin modern educational practice. Students explore the historical, philosophical, and sociological contexts of education, preparing them to become thoughtful, reflective educators.
The department is committed to producing graduates who can address the diverse needs of learners, including those with special educational needs, and who understand the complex interplay between education, culture, and society.
