Prof. Oscar Owino Ngesa is a Kenyan statistician, researcher, and university lecturer with extensive experience in statistical analysis, research, and academic training. He holds a PhD in Statistics from University of KwaZulu-Natal, a Master of Science in Statistics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, and a strong academic background in statistical modeling and data analysis.
Prof. Ngesa currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in Statistics at Taita Taveta University within the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Physical Sciences in the School of Science and Informatics. He has significant experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervising research projects in statistics and data science–related fields.
With over 15 years of experience in research, survey design, and data analysis, Dr. Ngesa has worked on various academic and applied research projects. His research interests and specializations include statistical modeling, spatial statistics, survival analysis, epidemiological data analysis, and survey methodology. His work often focuses on applying advanced statistical methods to solve real-world problems in areas such as public health, social sciences, and development research.
Research Interests
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Ngesa has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals and has participated in several research collaborations and conferences. His work in statistics and applied data analysis has supported research initiatives in Kenya and beyond.
