My name is Fridah Valenciah Muthoni. I did my Bachelor of Science degree in Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering at the Taita Taveta University. I graduated in 2018 and in 2019 got a scholarship from the Mujeres por Africa Foundation to pursue MSc in Environment in Spain. I am hoping to get a scholarship to do Master’s in engineering by the time I complete this 1-year course. My experience in Taita Taveta University gave me confidence to address certain challenges and an opportunity to immerse in and live with different cultures as I strive to be successful in my career as a 21st Century engineer.
“Hi! My name is Kennedy Wangui. I studied Bachelor of Science in Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering at Taita Taveta University and graduated in 2016. Presently I work at Lynk.co.ke as a Key Accounts Manager and also run an innovation firm for mining solutions in Kenya. A landmark project of the firm is a Mobile Mineral Processing & Metallurgical Lab to provide services to university and TVET level institutions and to Artisanal and Small-Scale Miners (ASM) in Kenya. Our Lab innovation won the top award during the 5th Mining4i competition at the Strathmore Extractives Industry Centre (SEIC) in July 2019 (see photo with the then PS Mining Geol. John Omenge at the Award Ceremony)
